Essential information for your journey

🎫 Machu Picchu Tickets

Machu Picchu tickets from March to October—especially Circuit 2, the most complete—sell out weeks in advance. For reservations during those months, if Circuit 2 is unavailable, we guarantee the best alternative circuit for your date. We will always ensure the best possible experience.

🏥 Health and Altitude

The Salkantay Trek reaches altitudes above 4,630m. It is essential to acclimate in Cusco for at least 2 days prior to starting. Our guides carry emergency oxygen and a first aid kit. Consult your doctor if you have cardiac or respiratory conditions.

📋 Prerequisites

No previous high-mountain experience is required for this trek, but a good general physical fitness level is necessary. We recommend training hikes in the preceding months. The maximum weight for your personal duffle/backpack is 7 kg; horses carry the rest.

✈️ Best Time to Visit

The dry season (May to October) offers the clearest days and best views. The rainy season (November to April) has fewer tourists and greener landscapes, though additional waterproof gear is required.
